Easy Chicken and Broccoli Stromboli Recipe

This homemade chicken and broccoli Stromboli can be eaten as a full meal or sliced up for an appetizer.  The dough I am using is a wheat pizza dough that I found at my local grocery store.  I often eat Stromboli as a full meal and later on I will show you this exact recipe except with different filler ingredients.  I hope you enjoy this chicken and broccoli Stromboli as much as I do.

  • 8oz Pizza Dough
  • 1-2 Boneless Chicken Breasts
  • 2 cups Broccoli
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella
  • 2 cups Favorite Italian Sauce (dipping sauce)
  1. First start off by preheating your over to 450, We will lower the heat down to 375 as soon as we place the Stromboli in the oven but starting it at 450 will help give the outside of the dough a nice crispy shell.
  2. I get a 16oz frozen Pizza Dough ball from the bakery at my local grocery store (shoprite).  I am noticing that a lot of local grocery stores are now carrying some form of frozen pizza dough. You will have to plan this meal in advance because before you go to work in the morning you have to let the frozen pizza dough thaw out and relax on the counter for a few hours.
  3. Once it is dinner time and your pizza dough is has risen you start by precooking your chicken and broccoli.  I like to boil my broccoli for about 5 or 10 minutes to make it softer.  The chicken you can slice up and pan fry for a few minutes, you do not have to fully cook!
  4. While your ingredients are cooking you can roll the dough out into a big rectangle.
  5. Once you have your dough rolled out and your chicken and broccoli are precooked you can begin by placing the ingredients one on top of the other.
  6. Finally roll your ingredients up long ways inside the dough.  Spray your pan with a little oil and get ready to cook.
  7. Remember to lower your temperature down to 375 degrees once you put your Stromboli in the oven.  After about 10 minutes of cooking if you would like a nice crispy and brown outer shell you can slide the Stromboli off the pan and on to your highest cooking rack!
