Garlic Hummus Recipe
Hummus is a snack food that can be eaten with fresh vegetables, crackers or pita chips. You can even replace mayo or butter with hummus when making a sandwich. This is a garlic hummus that can last for days in the refrigerate, make it for yourself or use it as an appetizer for guests. Makes 2 cups.
- 1 Chickpeas – 19 oz can, drain, rinse
- 1/4 c Lemon Juice
- 2 Garlic Cloves – chopped
- 2 tbsp Sesame Seeds – toasted
- 1/2 c Vegetable Oil
- 2 tbsp Parsley – chopped
- 1/4 tsp Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- Using a blender, puree your, garlic, pepper, salt, toasted sesame seeds and 1/4c of oil.
- Next add your lemon juice, followed by alternating the adding of chickpeas and remaining 1/4c of oil.
- Finish the garlic hummus by stirring in parsley.
